Members and Friends of The Riverbend Pentecostals,

We greet you as you stand strong in the name that is above every name, Jesus Christ!!

It is important in these turbulent times, that we stand fast, holding “the shield of faith, wherewith we quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.”

The social pandemic, COVID-19, has now affected the State of Missouri. Our Governor has issued a public health statement calling for all public gatherings to be limited to fifty people (https://governor.mo.gov/press-releases/archive/governor-parsons-statement-regarding-cdc-recommendations-mass-gatherings-and).

As of this time, there are no confirmed cases of the COVID-19 Virus in New Madrid County.

There is a strong public appeal to limit public gatherings, including, but far from being limited to, church gatherings.

We want to do what we can to cooperate with the authorities in limiting the possibilities of the further spreading of this virus.

As of this writing, the only service we will be cancelling is tonight’s service (Wednesday Night).

We will have a modified schedule for this coming weekend, and during that gathering, we will set aside a time for myself and our ministerial team to make decisions and to the best of our ability, establish a schedule for the upcoming services, at least through April 12, which is Easter Sunday.

If anyone, and I stress anyone, feels uncomfortable in attending any and all scheduled services that we might have, please feel free to refrain from attending, without fear of any repercussion from myself, my team, or any of your fellow worshippers.

Please refrain from posting anything to social media, or make any comments that that might be considered judgmental, critical, or harsh to anyone who decides to refrain from attending. By the same token, please don’t cast aspersions upon those who do want to attend.

    Ephesians 4:13

Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

We will do what we can to not allow this virus to be spread among us. We can’t see it, we know very little about it, but we do know that we are not ignorant of Satan’s devices. Let us continue to hold one another up in prayer, both privately and publicly.

Our prayer-text line is, as always, open and available for anyone who needs the church family to pray for any and all needs we might have.

We will, at the very least, be live on Facebook for the weekend, but we do hope to offer the opportunity to come together.

Should you be unable to attend any of our services in person, you may continue to give via Givelify, Paypal through our website (www.riverbendpentecostals.com), or by mailing through the U.S. Postal service:

We will explore modifying our seating arrangements to accommodate any spacing protocols. Please keep in mind that being seated near family members, with whom you are already in close contact with, should be fine. Please observe the advisement to limit physical touching. I realize we do this as a matter of habit, but it isn’t to be taken personally.

    In Jesus Name,

    Bro. G. L.
